City of Los Altos Library
Los Altos, California
The most important part of the design was to compliment the environmental conditions of Los Altos neighbors and City requirements. The use of wood for the trellis, interiors, and trims for the windows continuous to maintain the character of Los Altos. The library expansion involved reorganizing the flow of the library functions, visitor circulation, and items checkout process. The ceiling space was further enhanced by the open wood truss structural system. New millwork items and bookcases were installed throughout the library. The colonnade and wood trellis directed the visitors from the public ways and the parking lot to the main entry to the library. All ADA/ Title 24 issues were addressed in the modifications.
